An investigation is underway in Wood County after the deceased bodies of two elderly people were found at a residence near Quitman.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded Monday, August 3, to a welfare check on CR 1416. When they arrived to the residence all windows and doors were locked and no response was given from inside the home. Deputies forced entry into the residence and discovered both residents to be deceased.
The deceased have been identified as 75-year-old Emma Moore and 67-year-old Bobby Harper.
The Texas Rangers have been called in to assist with the investigation. Autopsy results are pending. The Sheriff’s Office said no further information is available at this time.
