News Corp/Fox has extended the deadline for negotiations with Suddenlink cable through 11:59 p.m. Central Time, Thursday, Jan. 3. Suddenlink officials say they continue to negotiate with Fox in good faith and are making progress toward an agreement. Fox allegedly initially requested a nearly 25% increase in what they’re paid. In East Texas, Fox owns only one of the Fox TV stations on the Suddenlink line up. There is another Fox station on with Suddenlink, KFXK TV channel 12 in Tyler and 17 in Mineola which is not affected by this situation, as it is owned by a different company. Despite today’s negotiations East Texas Suddenlink customers will have at least one Fox TV station. Cable networks such as FX and Fox Sports Southwest could are also involved in the negotiations. |
