All of the spirit and electricity of a college football game day will soon be a part of the Lindale ISD and the Lindale community.
Lindale’s Eagle Stadium will host the Tyler Junior College football game against Trinity Valley Community College on Saturday, October 20. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. The game was moved to Lindale due to a conflict with Tyler’s Rose Parade at the TJC’s home field of Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
Lindale ISD, the city of Lindale and TJC are planning a full day of events to support the Apache football team.
TJC will host a special thank you reception for LISD administrators and city of Lindale officials at the Lindale Early Childhood Center at 2:00 p.m.
Prior to kickoff, Lindale Mayor Robert Nelson will read a proclamation declaring October 20, 2012 as “TJC Day” in Lindale.
Cheerleaders from Lindale High School will join TJC cheerleaders on the sideline s. Lindale Eagle football players will also be on hand to meet and welcome the TJC players.
Concessions for the game will be provided by the Lindale ISD on both the home and visitors sides of the stadium.
An informational table will be set up for those wanting to learn more about college credit and Continuing Education programs offered by TJC. Those who sign up for information will be eligible for prizes through a special drawing. Winners will be announced during the game.
“We enjoy a very special partnership with TJC,” LISD Superintendent Stan Surratt said. “Through our dual credit program and the satellite campus in Lindale, TJC is very much a part of this community. We are excited for October 20 and proud to lend our support.”
Tickets will be on sale at the Lindale ISD Administration Building located at 505 Pierce Street beginning on October 15. Tickets can be purchased for $3. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m-4:30 p.m.
All Lindale ISD elementary school students will receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket at the gate.
