Van Zandt County Precinct 4 Constable Pat Jordan has announced the acquisition of Trigger, the new K9 officer in the county.

Trigger is a 3-year-old gold lab mix who came from the Shiner, Texas Police Department, which has discontinued its Drug Dog Program. Constable Jordan says Trigger is at the beginning of his career and should have about six or seven years of service left in him.

Constable Jordan utilized previously seized drug money to purchase Trigger.

Trigger is a highly focused drug detection dog trained to locate and passively alert to Marijuana, Heroin, Meth, Cocaine, and MDMA. Trigger loves kids of all ages and does a number of tricks.
Constable Jordan is looking forward to Trigger being a very active part of Law Enforcement and Public Relations in Van Zandt Co for a long time to come. Trigger will be primarily handled by Pct. 4 deputies.
