Children's Miracle Network Celebration in Orlando

Orlando, FL, March 21-24 - KMOO's own Kenny Smith and his wife Margie spent four days in Orlando at the Children's Miracle Network Celebration, kicking off this year's fundraising drive. KMOO will hold a local radio-thon on Friday, June 3. Stay tuned for more details and how you can make a difference in a child's life.

KMOO Celebrates 70 years at the Farmers' Co-Op in Quitman

Quitman, March 19, 2005 - Dozens of people turned out in Quitman at the Farmers' Co-op in Quitman Saturday from 10 to 1 to celebrate the Co-op's 70th Anniversary. Visitors enjoyed free hotdogs and drinks as well as more than 20 antique tractors on display in the parking lot. Folks got a chance to see a variety of high quality saddles and take home free samples of premium dog food. Several feed and ag experts were on hand to give customers advice on every aspect of farm and ranching and how to improve yield and cut costs.

The Stars Shine in Grand Saline

Grand Saline, March 17, 2005 - Grand Saline celebrated another successful year with a tribute to Hollywood Thursday night at the Chamber of Commerce's annual awards banquet. The Chamber named Celeste Tolar Woman of the Year and Karl Foerster Man of the Year. The Friends of the Old School were names Service Organization of the Year and Don's Dairy Bar was named Business of the Year. The banquet raised over $4,000 for the Chamber's programs. Dr. Jim Lea was inducted as the Chamber's new president.

Austin, March 8-9, 2005 - KMOO recently accompanied the Wood County delegation on their trip to Austin for Wood County Days. KMOO also met up with the Van Zandt group during Van Zandt County Days at the same time.
