Southwestern Taco Casserole

2 lbs. ground beef
- 1/4 cup
finely chopped onion
- 1 small can of chopped green chilies
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1 packet of taco seasoning mix
- 1 package of taco shells, crumbled
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- optional toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, salsa
Brown ground beef and onions until cooked thoroughly. Mix in the water,
taco seasoning, and green chilies. Crumble half of taco shells into a
greased casserole dish. Layer with half of cheese, all of the hamburger
mixture and then layer with the rest of the taco shells and cheese. Bake in
350 degree oven for 20 minutes and then top with additional toppings as
desired. Serves 6-8.
