In a hearing held Thursday in Wood County, two men facing Animal Cruelty charges lost custody of their dogs.

Johnny Munoz and Jared Williams appeared at the hearing Thursday morning and heard testimony of seven  witnesses describing the condition of the dogs at the Holly Lake Ranch home they were found in. Deputies and animal experts took the stand stating that the home the dogs were found in was covered in urine and feces, and that the animals appeared malnourished. A total of 10 dogs were seized, January 7, and four have since died. The remaining animals will stay in the care of Winnsboro Animal Control and Holly Lake Ranch, until a 10-day appeal period has passed. A permanent home will then be sought for the animals.

Munoz and Wiliams are ordered to pay $1,005.55 in restitution for animal costs since the seizure. Each faces a charge of Animal Cruelty.
