A former East Texas teacher and coach was killed Sunday night in a one-vehicle rollover accident in Hunt County.

According to Hunt County authorities, the accident occurred just after 9 p.m. north of Lone Oak on HWY 69. According to DPS, the driver, Robert William Dudley of Mineola, was traveling South on 69 when his 2009 Chevy Silverado veered off of the roadway, rolled over, and struck a culvert, ejecting him from the vehicle. Dudley was pronounced dead on scene.

During his career, Dudley had taught and coached at Mineola High School and Alba-Golden High School.
