An East Texas bakery has gone Hollywood. The Luscious Crumb in Mineola filmed an episode of The Food Network’s hit show ‘Cupcake Wars’ back in October.
The show which has been on the air for 8 seasons and is one of the Food Network’s top rated shows is a cupcake baking competition that starts with 4 bakers and eliminates one after each round of competition, with the last baker standing to win $10,000. The Luscious Crumb, winner of several local awards, is no stranger to tough competition. Owner Dawn Trammell says, “It is a huge honor to even be considered for the show because only the best bakers in the country are asked to compete, but we have some tough competition right here in East Texas. We always have to push ourselves further to be the best in this area and I think that helped to prepare us for Cupcake Wars. ”
The City of Mineola will be hosting a watching party Sunday, June 30 at 6pm at The Lake Country Playhouse/Select Theater in Mineola. Everyone is invited to come out and watch the show with them. Dawn has been under a strict contract to not reveal their part on the show until this week and not to release the results until after the show airs on the 30th and this will be their first time to watch the episode as well. There will also be a watching party in Emory at The Hometown Bar and Grill, which carries Luscious Crumb cupcakes. If you can’t make it to the watching party but would like to watch, the show will air on The Food Network Sunday, June 30th at 7 pm.
