An East Texas soldier will be welcomed home next week.
Specialist Scott Jay Anderson, a 2009 graduate of Canton High School, has returned home after his deployment to Afghanistan. Specialist Anderson's parents are Mitch and James Anderson and grandparents are Kathryn and Jimmy Stickland, long time residence of Canton. Specialist Anderson spent one year in Afghanistan and has since been discharged from active duty, But will continue as a reserve.
The public is invited to join Van Zandt County Project Welcome Home Soldier on Monday, April 8th at 6 p.m. at Papadales in Canton on to welcome home the local hero.
