An Amber Alert has been issued for 4-year-old Lucas Calvert of South Tyler.

The Suspect is James Calvert, believed to be driving a 2000 gray four-door Buick LaSabre with Texas plates DP4-G858. Anyone who sees the boy or suspect should call Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000.

James Calvert allegedly shot and killed the boy’s mother this afternoon at a home in south Tyler. The home belonged to the church the mother and children belonged to.

The mother and the suspect had recently gone through a custody battle after being divorced.
