Van Zandt County authorities are searching for a suspect in the assault and of an elderly woman last night. The suspect is also wanted for vehicle theft.

According to the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded to a call in the Callendar Lake community in reference to an Aggravated Robbery just after 9:30 p.m.

The male suspect allegedly entered the home of the woman, assaulted her and drove away in her tan 2005, 4-door Camry with the license plate of BY8N961.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information to contact the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office at 903/567-4133.
