After a tough 0-3 start to the Lindale Eagles Football season, They have pulled off what many felt impossible.  The 14-4A District Championship.

The Eagles even started District play with a loss to Kilgore, which may have been what got Lindale motivated.  Whatever it was, Lindale has not lost a game since.

With their 28-17 win, Friday, November 6th over the Indians of Jacksonville the Eagles took home the Gold Football and patiently waited for the results of the Sulphur Springs win over Henderson.  Because of the results from these two games, East Texas will get a chance to see a rematch of last years first round playoff game that sent Lindale home and Sulphur Springs on their way to a state title.

The first round game between the Eagles of Lindale, and the Sulphur Springs Wildcats will be played Friday November 13th at 7:30pm, at  Van's Memorial Stadium and will be broadcast live on 99.9 KMOO and at KMOO.com.

The  Edgewood Bulldogs kept their playoff hopes alive by ripping the Rice Bulldogs 48-11. A long drive from I-35 for Rice proved to be longer after Edgewood recovered from a sloppy 2nd quarter to keep Rice winless on the season.  Edgewood celebrated Homecoming after two consecutive losses, one to district front runner Kerens, and to Mildred.  Although the Bulldogs will need some help their playoff chances remain positive.
