Sheriff’s report from the Desk of Sheriff Bill Wansley June 29 – July 7, 2011 

 

June 29

Deputy Nathan Adams was dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s office in reference to a theft.  The victim advised that a subject had stolen two Indian artifacts valued at $6,000.00.  This case is under investigation.

 

June 30

Deputy Josh O’Grady was dispatched to the 3800 block of Highway 154 East in the Quitman area in reference to the theft of 5 breakers being stolen from the victim’s electric panel. The breakers are valued at $100.00.This case is under investigation.

 

Sgt. Aaron Warren was dispatched to the 300 block of CR 2651 in the Mineola area in reference to over $5,000.00 dollars in jewelry being stolen from the victim’s residence.  This case is under investigation.

 

July 1

Deputy Samantha Sellers was dispatched to the 800 block of CR 4895 in the Winnsboro area in reference to an intoxicated person.  Upon investigation Georgette Kim Bowen was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication. 

 

July 2

Deputy J W Williams was dispatched to FM 2869 and CR 3840 in the Hawkins area in reference to Criminal Mischief.  The victim advised that unknown suspect (s) stole the copper from the Churches A/C unit.  The cost to replace the copper tubing is $800.00.  This case is under investigation.

 

Deputy Chris Turner was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2166 in the Quitman area in reference to burglary of a habitation.  The victim advised that unknown suspect (s) went in her unlocked residence and stole an Xbox Kinect 360, 47” Vizio Flat screen television, DVD’s, Jewelry, Xbox games and a VCR all valued at over $1800.00.  This case is under investigation.

 

July 3

Deputy Chris was dispatched to the 3700 CR 2100 in reference to unknown suspect (s) damaging her mailbox.  This case is under investigation.

 

Deputy Robbie Ballard observed a pickup disregard the stop sign at CR 1886 and FM 515 East in the Yantis area.  Upon making contact with the driver who advised that he did not have a driver’s license or valid insurance.  Upon investigation and consensual search of the vehicle a controlled substance (methamphetamine) was located.  The driver Mason Alexander Luscomb was placed under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance Bond was set at $10,000.00.

 

Deputy Turner was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2174 in the Quitman area in reference to an assault.  The victim advised that he was struck in the face and was knocked out.  The case is under investigation.

 

July 5

Deputy O’Grady was dispatched to the 100 block of PR 6290 in the Mineola area in reference to injury to a child.  This case is under investigation.

 

Deputy Sellers was dispatched to the 1000 block of CR 2260 in the Mineola area.  The victim advised that her son’s girlfriend assaulted him and was refusing to leave the property.  Upon investigation Samantha Barker was placed under arrest for Assault Family Violence.

 

Deputy David Hitt was dispatched to a reckless driver on Highway 11 West.  Upon locating the vehicle a traffic stop was conducted.  Upon making contact with the driver an odor of a strong alcoholic beverage was emitting from the inside of the vehicle.  Upon investigation Jimmy Paul Shirley of Lone Star was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or more Bond was set at $50,000.00.

 

Jul 6

Deputy Brad Armendariz was dispatched to the 200 block of CR 2110 in the Quitman area in reference to the victim being assaulted by her boyfriend.  This case is under investigation.
