Lindale voters have approved $42 million of bonds in two separate proposals for construction and renovation in the district.
The package was divided into two seperare issues. The first, a $32 million bond proposal, passed with 1,314 votes in favor of the issue and 755 against it.
The second proposal, a $10 million bond proposal passed with 1,235 votes in favor of it and 823 votes against it.
Early voting for the Lindale ISD school bond runs through October 30.
The main polling place for early voting will be the Lindale Masonic Lodge located at 200 Margaret Street. Those wishing to cast an early vote can do so Monday-Friday at the Lindale Masonic Lodge from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lodge will have extended business hours on the last two days of early voting, October 29 and 30. On those two days the Lodge will be open for voting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The city of Emory hosted Rains' homecoming parade Monday evening. Hundreds of exicited parents and children lined the streets of the courthouse square waiting to see the football players, cheerleaders and band members slowly pass.

Alba-Golden will close it schools tomorrow and Monday due to excess illness. School officials said today that more than 20 percent of the students have been out sick each of the past two days.
Several illnesses are to blame including flu and infections. Authorities at the school said the health department has not confirmed any H1N1 flu cases at the school and they did not know of any possible cases.
The school will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected over the next two days in preparation for the return of students on Tuesday.

The 2009 Wireless to Go Valedictorian Challenge took place Thursday afternoon, in downtown Mineola in the historic select theatre. 9 valedictorians from all over KMOO country gathered to compete for cash and prizes in a game show type atmosphere that broadcast live on 99.9 fm and all over the world on kmoo.com.
The Contestants competed in a trivia type game show and were given four lifelines to use along the way. The Peoples' Telephone "60 Seconds on the Internet", the Watkins Insurance "Ask your Mentor", the John's Tire 50/50 and the KMOO Redo.
The University Interscholastic League is altering its schedules of events due to the outbreak of the Swine Flu in Texas. Effective immediately, all UIL interscholastic competition is suspended until May 11.
The UIL Academic State Meet, originally scheduled for May 7-9, will be rescheduled at a
later date. The Conference 4A and 5A One-Act Play competition will continue as
previously scheduled on May 15-16. All other conferences competing in One-Act Play will
be rescheduled.
All UIL regional track meets originally scheduled for this weekend, May 1-2, have been
cancelled. The state track and field meet will be extended to a three-day format to include
semifinal heats. The meet is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May
14-16.
Softball and Baseball district and playoff games have been cancelled and will be rescheduled. The Bi-District round of the girls UIL Softball playoffs will start May 16. The Boys UIL Baseball Playoffs will begin on May 23. Grand Saline P.E. and athletic coach, Coach Tunnel stated that they learned about the cancellation of the softball games via email from the UIL. The girls and boys are not allowed to participate in interschool games until May 11 at the earliest. Coach Tunnel also stated that it is somewhat frustrating because the girls were looking forward to getting the playoffs started.
Last night the Lindale Chamber of Commerce held it's 20th Anniversary Awards Banquet. In this banquet they recognized numerous people with awards from Perry Mac Huntchens as Citizen of the Year, to Megan Hardy and Michael Ragsdale as LISD Students of the Year. Ann Baker as the Educator of the Year, and Sarai Cornejo and Nathan Simmons as the district scholarship winners.
