Should local restraunts say on the menu where their catfish was raised? A new survey seems to say they should.
According to the survey, 86 percent of respondents support legislation that would require Texas restaurants to inform consumers about the origin of the catfish served. Moreover, 92 percent of survey respondents said restaurants should be made to follow the same strict Federal labeling laws governing grocery stores.
Roger Barlow, president of The Catfish Institute (TCI) based in Jackson, Miss., said the survey proves what producers have claimed for some time – consumers want to know where their food comes from.
