It took a Wood County jury more than two hours to find William Isaacs not guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday afternoon. Testimony in the trail began at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning and the court sent the case to the jurors. The jury sent out two notes during deliberations asking about their instructions. Isaccs was charged with assaulting his niece and attempting to injure her with a fork. Defense attorney Mark Breeding said he was pleased with the verdict. District Attorney Jim Wheeler said, while disappointed with the outcome, he will be moving forward with a different charge of sexual assault of a child. The accusation that Isaacs had sex with a 15-year-old girl came out during testimony in Tuesday's trial. |
