There are still some fish on beds on the north and south end of the lake despite the cooler temps. I have been catching fish many different ways but the most productive ways have been the gold/black back floating rogue and a Texas rigged Grande Bass lizard in watermelon red. Some of these fish are off the banks in 3-5 feet around any available hydrilla. I am fishing the rogues fast on a bright day triggering a reaction strike and a slow twitch and pause retreive on cloudy days.
The Yellow Magic popping bait has also been catching a few fish but I believe it is a little cool for it to be very productive but that will change in the up and coming weeks. Today and yesterday we had some good spinnerbait action as well. A 3/8oz. chartreuse/white with small willow blades is also working especially on the frontal days with a north wind. Good luck on Lake Fork this spring. If I can be of any assistance or if you would like to book a trip call me anytime on my cell at (903)780-0680. Here are my remaining available dates now thru mid May. April 24 May 3,10,12-14. Brooks Rogers 235 CR 1452 Quitman, TX 75783 903-780-0680 903-878-2727 |
